About

Not long ago I became a client and then a shareholder and employee of a new age leadership training company.

BOY DID I LEARN A LOT FROM THAT EXPERIENCE!!

Whilst there are a few ethical coaching and training companies, through extensive research I have found that a disturbing number have their roots in Scientology and Werner Erhard’s Seminar Training (EST). Both of these entities have been accused of employing mind control without the knowledge of the participants, and this was certainly the case with the company that I was with, for clients and staff alike.

This blog has been created to protect you from such companies, whose sole aim is to acquire your hard earned savings as well as the savings of your family, friends and associates.

Hello Eric and thanks for your question and the link to the Leadership & Personal Development Cults Education Facebook community. The initial posts there remind me very much of my own experiences with a commercial cult. Hopefully soon more than 2 people will ‘like’ that page.

To your question; There were two reasons I initiated this blog about contemporary cults.

The first was part of my own research and understanding of the phenomenon, to better understand how I fell into this trap, how they manipulated me and the other victims, where these methods originated from, and how widespread such practices are in modern society.

The second reason was the hope that anyone coming across this blog would be able to avoid being so manipulated, or if already ensnared then helped, awoken, as a first step towards freedom. Similarly I hoped it could help anyone who knows someone who is a victim of such a cult, give them an idea of what cults subjected their victims to and perhaps take helpful action to liberate them, raise their awareness, support them in pursuing liberation.

Perhaps my own writing came to a stop as I felt that I had become clear on what happened to me, now in a position to avoid falling prey to such companies again.

As a writer I may also have had a concern that my writing risked becoming repetitive, boring the audience.

Having shared so much information, there may have been a feeling that my duty to get this story out there to help others had been achieved. If this blog helped just one person, it has served a good purpose.

Now, having said all that, if you have any questions regarding what I’ve written I’d be more than happy to elaborate.

The thought of writing a book on this topic remains in my consciousness, who knows, maybe one day…
